Signature Brands Streamlines Distribution with Mobile Technology from Psion Teklogix and Vocollect
CINCINNATI, OH, USA (April 28, 2010) - Psion Teklogix, Inc. (LSE: PON.L), a global provider of mobile computing solutions, and Vocollect, Inc., the world leader in voice-centric solutions for mobile workers, today announced that Signature Brands, LLC has deployed Psion’s Mobile Integration Suite (MIS), including Vocollect Voice, to improve accuracy and efficiency within its distribution center. By implementing Psion and Vocollect technology, the leading manufacturer and innovator in the dessert decorating and Easter egg business with its Cake Mate, Betty Crocker and PAAS brands, was able to improve pick and ship rates by 20 percent and achieve a return on investment within seven months.
The Psion MIS is an enterprise-wide middleware solution that integrates SAP’s Warehouse Management enterprise resource planning system with Vocollect Voice enabling pick and ship information to be automatically converted into speech commands that instruct distribution center workers on how to build orders. It also includes Psion’s Speech Process Analyzer Dashboard and Reporting Tool which provides Signature Brands’ warehouse managers with a dashboard view of productivity and operational metrics in real time, including the capability to generate historical reports.
